2nd Saturday Hooking group met today at the studio. One of the gals asked if it had really been a month since I updated my blog? Yes, I’m guilty! I haven’t been slacking...really...but I just don’t know where the month has gone. I’m hookin’ away on the next section of the LJF rug project. I want to get the kits ready to go before I have to gear up for the spring events I’m vending at. I’ll share a picture of it with you in the next few days.
I’ve also been spending a lot of time on The Welcome Mat...scroll down to the bottom of the page to find a link to an awesome forum for rug hookers! Wanda is an amazing woman. I was part of her old group and had difficulty most days getting in...but this new format is wonderful!!! Now the only problem I have is self discipline and backing away from the computer! Beware you can get lost in this site for hours!
There were 14 ladies at group today...and just fabulous rugs. Unfortunately, I didn’t get pics of all of them but here are a few...
2 gals are working on Edyth O’Neill’s Ohio Coverlet...
Joyce is hooking hers in what I think is her new favorite color palette.
Prudence is hooking hers in similar colors to Edyth’s original in her book Rugs From My Red Cape...I’m sold out of the book, but I think Edyth has a few copies left...the link to her blog is below on the left side in the blog list.
Here’s Carol’s cheery floral...really says Spring! I can’t remember who the designer is...but have an email in to Carol to find out...I’ll post this info soon.
Carolyn finished her primitive floral...again I’m not sure about the designer...but will find out
Rose Mae’s first large project is in the bottom right corner...Square Dance by Going Gray
Patty is hooking a “bear rug” for the cabin. He’ll have 3-d ears and a shaped muzzle...she’s thinking of having the mouth open. Do you remember pajama pillows???? Well, we do and Patty’s thinking this cuddly bear will lay on the cabin bed!
Nancy is hooking away on her Blueberry Bear. I took Nancy’s ideas and drew them out on linen for her. She’s hooking mostly with Judy Taylor’s handspun yarn...with a few bits of my hand-dyed too.
Pam finished hooking this great prim floral...Red Primrose from Maggie Bonanomi’s book With These Hands...she also made the needlework roll-up in this book...wish I had gotten a pic of it, cuz it was stunning!
Pam’s doing the finishing on another prim beauty...I believe this is a design by Cathy Stephen of Red Barn Rugs.
The last pic I got today is of Toodles finished masterpiece. Under the Sun was the rug project I offered in 2008. She needed it larger to fit in their hallway...so we added a fun border. She’s bringing it to class next Thursday, so I can snap a better pic. The studio was so full today it was too crowded to lay it out. I’ll post a better pic in the gallery section on my website soon!
I’ll try not to be away so long...
