Family Treasures...

Slowly...I’ve been going through some of my Mother-in-law’s treasures that we brought back from the farm. Sadly, I don’t know much about them...if she considered them treasures...or merely things she had and used.

While gathering old blue glass canning jars in the basement I found some old clothespins. I’m very curious about one of them...Who burned the “PRAY OFTEN” onto it???
Where did it come from??? Was it hers...or her Mother-in-laws??? Did she use it regularly??? And...What did she think about when she did???

There are many other little things I chose to bring home...most with no value to anyone but me because of my love of textiles...another day I will bring these out!

Today, I’ve made some progress on Part One of “A Sampler”...(the pattern is shown in previous post)...I’m pleased with the way it is coming together. I’ll post pics soon...my hope is to have it finished for Saturday’s hooking group at my studio...guess the guys are getting “Chinese take out” for dinner tonite...LOL!!!

We’re under a winter storm advisory again this evening thru tomorrow...hope where ever you are your safe and warm. L

  1. Maybe it was a gift from one of her kids that was made in Sunday school, I think it's precious:)

  3. Hi Laurie - How wonderful to have the oppurtunity to have those things and it would be wonderful to know more about them, wouldn't it? I love to wonder about my old things and who used them and did they enjoy them. It makes them even more special.
