They Grow Up So Fast...

Congratulations to our budding architect...Nick, Mom and Dad are so proud of you! The ACE Mentor Program is a national program that pairs industry professionals with high school students interested in architecture, construction and engineering. Last evening the teams from 3 area schools (Hopkins, St. Paul Johnson and Washburn) competed in the first Twin Cities competition by presenting their designs for a parking facility that was "out of the box"...not just your old parking ramp! All of the designs and presentations were outstanding! It's exciting to see these young people so passionate. The Hopkins team won the trophy...but Nick WON one of two scholarships and we are so happy for him!

...thanks for indulging this proud Mama...now back to the grind for me...The studio is a mess as I flit from one project to another frantically getting ready for The Hopkins Rug Artist's Hook-In on Saturday! Artist/Designer Right to Livelihood...

I've been off the computer for a few days...working on goodies for upcoming shows...

This morning...coffee in hand...I ventured out thru blogland to visit friends sites and OH MY...my blood started boiling. I need to choose my words carefully here...I'm very passionate about the issue of copyright infringement...it's personal...it's how I and many of my friends put food on our tables... I could really go off on a rant here...but for now I will bite my tongue and refer you to Lori's eloquent word's on her blog Notforgotten Farm ~L

Thank YOU All for your kindness...your thoughts, prayers and well wishes for Mom, me and our family. We brought her home from the hospital! She is in less pain and happy to be home. Still waiting on some test results,and hopeful for a good report!

They are in the first match today at 9:00 a.m.(CDT). Then compete in matches 14, 24, 37, 52 and 58 today. Tomorrow the qualifying rounds continue, they are in 69, 74 and 98.
I'm behind on my work for April's updates at the 1800 House and Early Work Mercantile...so I'll have busy hands today as I cheer Nick and his team mates on!
