Just had to share this sweet face with you!
It's a cool grey Sunday afternoon here in the North Country...but I'm snuggly warm under this growing rug...enjoying some quiet time hooking.
It will be another busy week with physical therapy appointments for Dad and the day to day stuff here at the studio...a huge wool order is due early this week...

...new wool...just like Christmas all over again! I'm especially excited because one of my all time favorites...Khaki Plaid...is back again! I updated the website last night so everything is set for the wooly arrival!

Working...Balance and the Nature of Things...

Finding the right balance between the computer and all the other things that need to be done is a challenge...this is always a busy time of year for me...many deadlines...yet the natural rhythm of the seasons tells me to slow down...to rest and nest...no wonder at times I feel like don't know which way to move.
Yet..I'm happy...I'm right where I need to be!
I joke that I've needed to work like a "well oiled machine"...but actually it has been good for me. My parents are needing more help these days and I'm so glad to still live close and be there for them...

Today is a hooking day...I'm working on a commission for a client in North Carolina. It's Edyth O'Neill's "Old Chalk Deer"...I love Edyth's designs (now available from Barbara Carroll at Woolley Fox). I don't often get the chance to hook another designer's pattern...so this is fun! I'll post updates when time permits...

the chairs are all spoken for on Saturday January 14th...Wow...I'm amazed at how fast they filled for this month's 2nd Saturday Open Studio day. If you wanted to come play and haven't yet contacted me...you can and I'll put you on the wait list in case a chair opens up!

Happy January to All ~
I'm confused...things seem to be out of sorts...it's been in the mid-teens to low twenties the last few days...we've had a bit of ice and a few snow flakes...it's mostly brown...and oh so dry...This is January?...in Minnesota??? To top it off we are still on Christmas break...oops...that is what we used to call it...excuse me...winter break. Yes, the kids were in school right up to Christmas eve...so they get two full weeks after Christmas off. Husband and son used to be on the same break schedule...not this year...hubby has had to head back to work already.

I have several rugs in progress...a couple commissions and the start of the 2012 annual rug! If you are interested in this year's project rug...Grandma's Garden...I just put a clickable link on the left sidebar...it will take you to the website page that has all the information. I'll post updates of the rug as it progresses...right now it's slow going...I'm taking my parents to doctor appointments several times a week...that's a whole other story!
So for now here is my watercolor sketch...

That's what we got overnite...

...such a contrast to last year...when the snow was up to the windowsills.
I can't remember having such a BROWN Christmas here in the north country! ...No wonder I'm behind in my preparations...it doesn't look like Christmas.
Just a few more customer orders to finish up and then I can get busy on baking...wrapping and a bit of decorating. Since moving the studio back home...We've cut back on all the decorating...there isn't much room for it with all the wool.

I'll leave you today with another treasure from the old 1890's autograph album I found awhile back...Rosey's sentiment is perfect for how I feel about not posting here as often as I would like...

Happy Mid-November to you…

The weather here in Minnesota has finally turned cold...We have been spoiled by a Gorgeous Autumn…but today reality has set in…
16 degrees this morning…yet the sunrise was still most beautiful!
Today has been one of those days where little things draw my attention away from all I planned to accomplish…
so be it…
at least there is fresh hot bread ready for dinner…

This is one of the many things I have on my work table…a wool crazy quilt pillow…I’m obsessed with these lately. The center image is my Great Grandmother Anna in her garden…I printed it on fabric…
Now the fun of stitching can begin as soon as I have some time to sit in my favorite chair!

Last week I snuck in a visit to one of my favorite places…Hunt & Gather
Treasures always follow me home…this is an autograph album from 1893.

The penmanship is amazing…the sentiments delightful…here are a couple of my favorites…

Autumn Greetings...

October seems to be flying by…perhaps the unseasonably warm temps we had were deceiving…
But the frosty temps the past few days have finally made me realize that October is nearly gone.
I’ve been in “production mode”…kitting up the final part of Brocade…the 2011 annual rug project…

I’m happy to say that the kits were finally mailed out today…Yeah!!! I have lots of ideas for the 2012 rug project…but nothing final yet…stay tuned!

It’s been a beautiful Autumn day with temps well above normal...
and dry...I’ve been moving the sprinkler from garden to garden all day...

The ash tree near the back patio is suddenly a blaze and I could spend hours sitting beneath it...but not today...

With the Autumn Valley hook-in behind me there is much to catch up on...our neighbors gifted us with Fireside apples from their tree...so the apple sauce is simmering on the stove...cinnamon and clove scents the whole house...the canning jars are ready...what a treat this will be on a cold winters day!

I’m working on getting the final part of “Brocade”...the 2011 Rug Project together...I’m hoping to have the kits ready to mail by weeks end. I’ve got lots of ideas for the 2012 rug...nothing final...except maybe the border?!?!

I’ll leave you today with a couple pics of some wonderful sunflowers a friend gave me last week...I love how they look above the potting bench in the back of the house...thanks again Chris Ann!!!

The heat and humidity have finally retreated...and like many of you...I'm in an Autumn mood...

...the new website...http://www.woolyredrug.com is coming together nicely...lots of long hours and still a lot more stuff to put up...but I think all will be well.
For the most part, I'm a glass half full kind of gal...and I think things happen for a reason. The old LJFibers website was due for a good house cleaning...just never thought I'd have to start over from scratch!
Running a web biz is always a work in progress...but I hope to have most of the essentials in place this weekend...

I've been working on a new site www.woolyredrug.com since last year when the host service was sold...but it's really complex compared to the system I've been using for over a decade...

If it ain't one thing...it's another...

this is certainly not how I planned to spend the day...the website is down...and I'm waiting for my host server to get back to me.

Seems like this is an annual thing??? I remember other hot, humid July days sweating over website issues...Could it be a planet alignment thing?

Last year I started building a new site...but it is really complex for this ole' brain. Yes it has lots of fancy bells and whistles that the old site doesn't...but there is always comfort in the familar and I've worked so hard to get the old baby looking just the way I way I want.

So...while I wait for the webhost to diagnosis the problem...I guess I better wake up my teenager and have him help me fiqure out the new sites code!

Anna in the garden

it is too wet for me to be in the garden...
going thru old family photos...
here is a picture of my maternal Great-Grandmother Anna...
in her garden...I'm guessing sometime in the early 1920's
...she and my Great-Grandfather Joe
came to the USA in 1900
...she passed in 1924 at age 67
...six years before my mother was born
I was married with her gold wedding band...

looking for sunshine...
wish we could share the rain
with all those who really need it!

Simple Goodness...

Rhubarb Oatmeal Banana Muffins...
...one of Summer's delights!

I've used this basic recipe for years...and no matter how I tweek it the muffins are always yummy! I like to measure and store all the dry ingredients in canning jars.
Then...it's quick and easy to add the wet ingredients and any fruit, nuts...or whatever is on hand.

Basic Oatmeal Muffin Mix
♥ Mix:
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 cup Rolled Oats
½ cup sugar
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Soda
2 tsp Baking Powder

♥ 2 Eggs
♥ 1/4 cup Oil
♥ 1/4 cup Milk
Beat eggs til frothy, mix in oil, milk & 1 CUP MASHED BANANA.
Fold into dry mix til moistened.
Fill muffin cups ¾ full, bake at 400°
For 20-25 minutes

For the Rhubarb muffins...I add about 1 and 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the dry ingredients.
To the mashed banana I add 2 handfuls...about 1 and 1/2 cups...of diced rhubarb, sprinkle with a teaspoon of sugar to cut the tartness, mix to coat fruit well. Add egg mixture to dry ingredients, fold in fruit...
Fill muffin cups...
I like to dust with fresh ground cinnamon and a sprinkle of pearl sugar!
Bake...Cool...YUM!!!

Workin' Wednesday...

It feels SO good to be getting down to business...I've had to put so many ideas on hold for far too long...
...today I'm playing with...um...working on...my new hand-dyed wool samples...I've been out of the old color cards for a while, not wanting to make new when our water source would be changing...no excuse now girls!!! I have had this idea to do it in a little booklet format...got a good start on it this morning!
...No...this isn't going to be a recipe book...I mean...I think there are enough of those floating around...and I don't dye my wool in the conventional rug hooker's way. Most of my colors I formulated back in my old spinning and weaving days...am I really this old???

Anyway it's a fun day here even if it's cool and cloudy for our first full day of summer. The greens are rich after all the rain...and the herb garden is so fragrant! Hope you have lovely day! ~L

Last Saturday I cleaned up the herb garden...
The gardens were so neglected...with the relocation plans...the gardens were the last thing on my mind...but...
All that has changed! We have come to the FINAL decision that Nick and I will stay in Minneapolis. It's a looonnnggg story. Too many issues started coming up with the house in Wisconsin. And the seller's market here in Minneapolis has hit rock bottom. I didn't want the responsiblity of two places! Needless to say, Nick is happy to finish high school here at Washburn! I'm happy to stay near my aging parents.
It's not an ideal family situation...Paul will make the trip home as often as he can...we will make it work.

So now I can start working on all the ideas for the studio and website that have been put on hold...the shop will remain here at home on Wentworth...and I'm happy to be in my garden!

Apologies for not posting more frequently...this is a snippet of what I've been up to! I can't show the whole rug just yet...but will soon.

Tomorrow is our last 2nd Saturday hooking group...if you are in the Minneapolis area...give a holler and we'll make room for you! Would love to have you join us!

We should be closing on a house in a few weeks...can you sense my hesitation?!?!
There have been so many bumps in the road on this relocation journey...that I hate to give too many details for fear of jinxing it!

So...I keep pulling loops...or taking tiny stitches...to keep my sanity! After our 103 degree record breaking start to the week, the weather has turned more Spring or Autumn like...60's and 70's...suit me just fine!

Such beauty after such devastation...
The Northside of Minneapolis...the neighborhood I grew up in...is aching today. The roof on the grade school I went to is gone...the stained glass windows at the church across the street are damamged...Thankfully no one here was injured...tho' one man died a few blocks away...Other areas were harder hit...such sadness...
My thoughts are there today...and with those in Missouri, too.
The weather has been wild this year...Winter...now Spring...What's up?

Love'em!!! Lots of NEW wooly textures...and a few "oldies"...arrived a week ago! I've finally got the studio back together after the annual Spring hook-in...opps...no pictures...
Anyway...just got all the woolies added to the website!
Now busy hooking up some treasures for Shepherd's Harvest Wool and Sheep Festival on Mother's Day weekend.
This will be my 7th consecutive year at the festival! It's always a great time!!!

It's a blustery Wednesday here in the North Country...a few days ago all the snow had melted away in our yard...the birds were singing...but NOT today! This is how March is...a teaser of what's to come one day...then a slap of reality the next!

It's okay...I have much to do inside...drawing patterns, dyeing wool and preparing kits for Brocade...the picture above is another preview of this year's rug project. If the sun was shining and the birds were chirping I'd want to be scratching in the herb garden! Maggie Bonanomi's newest book arrived a few days ago! Almost 20 years ago I was fascinated with making books...and I love making journal covers...Maggie's techniques combine...basic bookmaking...wool applique and a whimsy of design!!! A fun project on a cold winter's day!

I'm a bit behind in getting the website updated...like many...we've been down with the flu...or some nasty bug. Nick was home from school most of last week...and I was down for the count most of the weekend. Lucky for him, Paul was working...in a much warmer climate.

But...there is nothing like bolts and bolts of lovely new wool to brighten this gal's spirit!!!

While lying around with not even enough energy to pick up my hook...my mind on over load...I'm a multi-tasker...definitely not a time waster. I know that when you are sick...it's your body's way of saying..."Take care of me"...but all I could think was..."What a waste of time...and there is so much that needs doing!"
So now that I'm back to the land of living...I want to throw open the windows and start the Spring cleaning. It's been in the mid-20's the last few days...might hit 32 tomorrow...ha...heat wave...still not quite window washing weather...so hey...How 'bout a SALE instead?!?!?!

Now, Paul will tell me...not to fret...the movers will pack it all...but...well I guess I'm in the mood to lighten the Pattern load...Select wool applique, punch needle, and cross stitch patterns are being marked down! I should have the website totally updated by the weekend...I hope you'll hop over for a look...there just might be a deal on something you've been looking for!

We've had light fluffy flakes throughout most of the day...and the temps are dropping. This is usually the coldest weekend in January...Where is our January THAW???

Lots of lovely new wool will be arriving this week too! I'll be keeping busy hooking some smaller mats for the February 1st release at Early Work Mercantile. I've also got to get working on the stitching from the previous post...reminds me of a favorite quote...

There are so many things I'm thankful for...family...friends...and you my loyal followers! Thanks for sticking with me here in this year of changes! No move news yet...and that's OK! Looking forward to spending the holiday's here!

Before the holiday rush begins, I've been busy drawing up patterns. Normally I don't release the year's project rug pattern til the following January. But with the impending move and not knowing exactly how that will all play out...I thought it best to get them out NOW! House Blessing...

Hello Everyone...I suppose I should be posting pics of fall decorations and pumpkin carvings...but for tonight this will have to do. This year's rug project is coming to a close...I'll be dyeing the last of the wool for it tomorrow and the kits will be in the mail by the end of the week. I'll be introducing my newest design "Pear Tree" at the Stillwater Hook-In in on October 2nd! Just need to finish the binding. This was supposed to be my entry for EAL's Holiday directory...but with all the changes around here, I didn't make the entry deadline.

The weather held for the yard sale this past weekend and I'm glad that is behind us. It's good to be pulling loops again...and I'm making progress on the last part of House Blessing...this year's rug project. One of the design challenges with this particular project is making all four parts play nice with each other! I'll try to get a pic to post in the next few days. Busy in the dyepots getting ready for hook-in...in between all the moving details...

With all the changes around here this summer...and more on the horizon...it felt so good to get back to my ThursDAY class! I won't be teaching much this fall, but a few gals from last years class will come occasionally...until the movers haul us away.
Here is Kathy P's stunning Wool Crazy block...18" x 18"...the stitching is AMAZING!

Next is Sue L's WONDERFUL rendition of Karen Kahle ~ Primitive Spirit's "Flowerbox"...40" x 52"...

this is the 2nd time Sue has hooked this rug. The first was early in her hooking career...a light background...still lovely, but not as playful! Sue didn't have quite the stash to pull from then! Again, click the photo to see the detail. She used a variety of dark values to hook the background, like we did in my 2007 project rug...Comforts of Home...

Last evening was our 27th annual block party! The weather was lovely, fabulous food and the fellowship of neighbors the best! I've been here for 17 of the parties and am sad to think this was the last. But...no time to dwell on that...

It certainly has been an interesting summer around here. Little did I know that moving the studio/shop back home was just the beginning of the chaos. Then in the final hours the website was saved, when another host service bought the host company I’ve been with for 9 years. There have been a few glitches and I’m still working on building a new site, but for the most part the ole’ site is working and I’ll be adding new product as time permits!

So you say...”What NOW???” Last week, my husband accepted a promotion that will have us relocating to the Milwaukee area. I’m thrilled for him...but this is a major life change for our son and me. Nick starts 9th grade a week from Monday...I’ve lived in the area all my life...this house for 17 years. I’m trying to keep my sense of humor...or risk crumbling into pieces! The good news is I can run The Wooly Red Rug from anywhere! We are looking for a home in Cedarburg, WI, which is an old woolen mill town with a huge arts community. The thought of having like minded souls around is a big comfort...and the Winery sounds inviting, too! ~L

...the website has been saved! The hosting service was sold and the new owner is keeping everything in place...Amen. I still will working on a new site...but not in a frenzy. I may switch everything over at some point...or just keep it for selling my finished work.

The studio/shop move behind me...I've abandoned the remaining piles of miscellaneous clutter...tho' ignoring them is really difficult for me! This week I'm catching up on orders and most importantly finishing up on Part 3 of House Blessing, the 2010 Project Rug. For all you very dear, patient participants...the kits should be ready and in the mail next week!

Hello Everyone, It's been way too long since I've posted! I hope you are enjoying these fleeting summer days. How did it get to be nearly the end of July? I know that I've been working hard and am so focused on getting everything moved...seems like the days just fly by.
Just the big tables and basement clutter remain on Grand...all the inventory has been moved...the wool room is looking great...and then yesterday this arrived...
Lovely NEW wools...and a few olde favorites! And another shipment should be arriving any day! It's always exciting to get new wool, but this time of year it reminds me of getting ready for school. When I was young we used to make most of our clothes...so a trip to the fabric stores was always part of "back to school"...no wonder I love the feel of cloth in my fingers!

There has been a change in ownership of the building I’ve rented for the past 7 years...and I’ve lost my lease, so I’m moving the studio/shop back to our home.

The GOOD news is as of August 1st, I’ll only have 1 toilet to clean...the bad news is I have lots to do before the end of July.
It’s really bittersweet. While I’m excited to have everything back home, I will truly miss my neighbors and our cozy little corner on Grand.
Sadly, most of my neighbors are scrambling to find new locations for their businesses. I am so GRATEFUL to Paul and Nick for allowing and encouraging me to “Simplify” and move back home.

So what does this mean for you my dear customers/friends?
If you are in town...
as of August 1st you’ll find all your wooly needs at 4630 Wentworth Avenue South, just 3 blocks East and 1 block North of the Grand Avenue nest...I’ll be putting new directions on the website. June and July 2nd Saturday and 3rd Thursday hooking groups will still take place on Grand. Classes and Hooking Groups will start up again in September at the “new” studio. Hours should be a bit more flexible...
anytime by appointment, weekdays 11 to 5 and as always, it’s a good idea to call ahead!

For those out of town...
The website will be the same! There may be a small delay in getting orders out near the end of July as the move progresses.

I appreciate your patience over the next few months. I truly value your business, support, kind thoughts and words. Because of YOU, I am able to do what I love and know I was put here to do.

I’ll post updates here on the blog to let you know how things are going.

I've been a bit behind at the studio...dyeing wool on hot, humid days...98 degrees this past Monday...YEEK...it's only May!?!?!
So...I've been pretty wiped out at night...my usual "wee hour computer time" succumbed to Humidity Head...is what I call it...when the heat and humidity go up...my intelligence and motivation seem to disappear!

There just weren’t enough hours this week for me to finish work at the studio...so I needed to bring it home...I’ll be finishing cutting the kits for the Part 2 of House Blessing, this year’s rug project...
hopefully in time to put dinner on the table!

Besides having them ready to mail out on Monday...my reward will be to sit and stitch this evening. In between all my other projects, I’ve been working on Maggie Bonanomi’s Settler’s Pride Quilt...

Everyone who is paticipating in the 2010 Rug Project should have received an email or 2 from me this morning!

Here's a peek at Part's One & Two...the right side and bottom border are part of the 4th section to come in October. I just needed to hook 'em to gauge how much wool...and know my limit on kits for this year's project.

Back up to speed...

HI ALL...
Finally back to a hi-speed internet connection after fussing around with dial-up for a few weeks! Hard to believe that the provider we've had for 10+ years is no longer offering it in our market! It's been a painful switch over...and the timing really bites...Not that there is ever a GOOD time for computer trouble?!?!?

Oh well...I'm muttling along and just happy to be back online at all!

This past Saturday was our annual Spring Hopkins Hook-in...

A lovely day! Unfortunately I never got a chance to see the rug show...or to take pics. If anyone was there and wants to send me photos, I'd love to post them here!

So...today I'll be putting the studio back togehter...cutting the Part Two kits of the House Blessing rug project and getting them in the mail by the end of the week!

The March/April/May issues arrived at the studio/shop today...so I guess I can share "Clover" with you now! My sweet little bunny mat is the free pull out pattern is this issue.

They left out the photos of the fabric swatches...probably a space thing...so I will post them here (and on the website when I have a chance).

it's coming along...and I hope to have Part One hooked by the weekend so I can get the kits together and out in the mail next week...That is STILL January...right?

I've had a few inquiries about the color plan so I thought I'd post a pic here. I also plan to post regular updates on this years rug project. And maybe even share some of the participants rugs if they will send me photos!

I'm done in the dyepots for the week and will be drawing out the patterns tomorrow after my ThursDAY class leaves. Hope to hook a bit tomorrow evening at our Thursday evening group and really make progress on Friday.

Happy, Happy New Year...
Feels like I'm starting out the year already behind...oh well...just hope it's not going to be this way all year...LOL!
I enjoyed spending time with my guys over their holiday break...and some fun family celebrations, too. And I finally managed to finish hooking "Flower Power"...hope to get it bound later tonite!

This poor rug just kept getting pushed aside last year as other things came up...I wanted to have it ready for Hook-in last fall...but other projects just kept jumping in to the front of the line. I'll be getting the patterns on the website in the next few days...along with the NEW 2010 Rug Project...

I've been a busy little elf...finishing a few gifts...a knit hat...some wool appliqued scarves! Now I need to move into the kitchen...cookies...candy and jellies need to get started!

I just finished binding this chairpad for my neighbor Anna. I took a photo of her couch and simplified the floral design to hook this mat for her rocker. I'll be delivering it later this afternoon and am excited to see how it looks there.

I received a question about new hookers struggling with pulling loops...here is my 2 cents!

One of the things I’ve learned in all my years of teaching is...
It’s NOT the hook...it’s the technique!

Many beginner’s and a lot of long time hooker’s too, struggle with splitting wool, catching foundation threads, and pulling poorly formed loops.

While it’s commonly know that when pulling up loops you lift each loop in the direction of the starting tail or previous loop to avoid pulling out your work. I don’t see or hear anyone talk much about the action of the hook. What I do see is a lot of hookers stabbing the hook shallowly through a hole and barely catching the side of wool strip...shredding and twisting it as it comes to the surface.

Here is my opinion...
Put the hook ALL THE WAY through the hole, so that the WHOLE SHAFT is under the foundation, and with most inexpensive ball or pencil style hooks the wooden handle hits the top of the foundation. Slightly tilt the hook to catch the wool strip and pull the hook up through the hole at somewhat of an angle. I call it a scooping motion.
You are using the shaft of the hook to form a nice plump loop...the hook end is really just there to keep the loop from falling of the end.

Of course, more expensive wide shaft hooks make this easier, but used improperly can still trouble and discourage someone who is just beginning and at a much greater cost!

Our foremothers used a bent nail and worn cloth...and they made treasures!

...it's been just a whirlwind of activity around here the past several months!
Today the October issue of The Wool Street Journal arrived! My studio is the feature in Wool Street Anywhere, USA!
I hope you'll check it out...I so pleased to share some wonderful rugs and a few of the many hooker friends who gather here...and a "freebie" pattern, too!

We had a great turn out at the 12th annual Autumn Valley Hook-in on October 3rd in Stillwater. I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to take any pictures. I've spent the last few weeks trying to restock the shelves...keeping up with classes and working on some commissioned pieces that have come my way since the EAL Directory went out.

"A Sampler" this year's project rug is now complete and I'll be working on cutting the wool kits for Part 4...I should have them in the mail by the end of the week!
I'll also be back in the dyepots...a new shipment of yarn arrived from the mill and I need to get BUSY!

Hoping that the wintery weather we've been having here in MN will turn to FALL. Feel a wee bit cheated this year. The summer drought and the early snowfall have robbed us of the glorious fall colors...Hope it's better in your neck of the woods...

Happy Autumn Everyone!
I just had to take a few moments to greet you all!
It's a bright and blustery day today and it feels good after an unusually hot September! Saturday is our annual Fall Hook-In in Stillwater...much to get ready!
Fall classes are in full swing at the studio...busy times at my Son's school, too...it's time for me to get the kits cut and mailed out for the final part of this year's rug project...and the deadline for my article in RHM is the 9th...Whew...I sure could use a few more hours this week!

This little beauty is on it's way to Massachusetts...I'm pleased with the way it turned out and hope the sweet woman who ordered it is too! I'm hoping to have patterns of this new design drawn up in time for Saturday!

Ribbon Winners...

Well it's been too long since I've had a chance to spend time here! School started yesterday...yippee...all you Mom's know what I mean! And now I'm trying to get back to a regular routine...classes start in the studio next week...the Autumn Hook-in is the First Saturday in October...and a few other things to finalize before the middle of October! Busy...but Good!

The Holiday issue of Early American Life arrived today at the studio! Look for my Christmas Goose mat on page 59. I'm really pleased with it...just wish I could have been a mouse in the corner during the photo shoot!

It's FAIR time here in Minnesota. Several friends have entered their rugs and I'm happy to share some of the excitement here!

Rose Mae won a Blue Ribbon at the Minnesota State Fair for her Square Dance rug! The pattern is a Going Gray design...and it's the second piece Rose Mae has hooked. Her first was a small chair pad. She joined our Saturday group last January on a very cold day. This picture was taken at our June meeting and she's finishing the binding! I'm so very proud of you Rose Mae...and can't wait to see the butterfly rug we've been working on the design for!

Joyce entered several rugs in the Steele County Fair and won several ribbons...I hope she'll send me photos so I can update it here...but here is her version of Edyth O'Neill's Ohio Coverlet in progress earlier this year...

She won Champion and 1st Place! Her Bev Conway rug won Grand Champion and Iggy, designed by Maria Barton took 2nd place...send me some pics Joyce!

Goosey arrived home today!

Oh how I wish I could have travelled with her! She was off to some historic place for the photo shoot for EAL's Holiday Directory...but she's not talkin'...and there wasn't any info in the box...just the placards and hangtags with this years logo. So I guess I'll be as surprised as you when the directory comes out this fall!

I just noticed I've passed my 50th post here...could that be? I totally missed it...anyway I'll be posting a GIVEAWAY later this week to celebrate...so please stop back and sign up!
